By Innocent Anaba Lagos—A prosecution witness in ongoing trial of former -Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Patrick Akpobolokemi and six others, yesterday, told a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, that he collected the sum of N70 million for a plot of land sold to one of the accused.
The witness, Eboigbe Etiosa, a property consultant and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Eboigbe Etiosa and Associate told the court that it was the second accused person, Captain Ezekiel Agaba who bought the property.
“It cost N70 million. My Zenith Bank account domiciled with Eric More Branch, Surulere, was credited twice,” he said.
According to him, he bought the property, “a piece of land” in 2014 at Northern Foreshore, Lekki from one David Anazodo.
The case is before Justice Ibrahim Buba.
Akpobolokemi, is standing trial alongside the agency’s ex-Executive Director, Maritime Safety and Shipping Development, Agaba, his aides Ekene Nwakuche, Governor Juan, Blockz and Stonz Limited, Kenzo Logistics Limited and Al-Kenzo Logistic Limited.
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is prosecuting the accused for alleged converting N2. 6billion between December 23, 2013 and May 28 last year, to which they pleaded not guilty.
