Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Some 90 families were displaced after a fire broke out at a slum area in Barangay 160 in Raha Bago, Tondo, Manila.
The fire started at noon and was declared out at 4:25 p.m. Around 30 homes were reported to have been affected by the flames.
According to the Manila Fire Bureau, the damage was at P2 million.
At this point authorities still don't know exactly what caused the fire. However, initial assessment showed that the fire started because of an unattended cooking pan, Sr. Insp. Marvin Carbonell of the Manila fire department said.
There were no fatalities but one man reported multiple lacerations and a fracture of the right hand. He was given first aid medical care but not escorted to a hospital.
